Bechem United Chief Executive, Kingsley Osei Bonsu has beat off competition from Elloeny Amande to secure one of the Ghana Football Association Executive Council seat.

The 2023 Ghana FA Elective Congress was held in Tamale at the Global Dreams Hotel on Thursday, where Kurt Okraku retained his seat for another term.

Botha spirants, Elloeny Amande, a former sports broadcast journalist and Chief Executive of Karela United, and Kingsley Osei Bonsu were vying for one of the five slots allocated to the Ghana Premier League category.

However, a run-off was necessary to determine the fifth member of the Executive Council from Premier League clubs.

But Osei Bonsu triumphed over Elloeny Amande with 12 votes as against 6 to secure a place on the Executive Council.

Before the run-off, former Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah emerged with 10 votes, while Randy Abbey received 12 votes, Nana Oduro Sarfo secured 10 votes, and Frederick Acheampong earned 11 votes. These four candidates clinched victory in the tightly contested race.

Earlier, incumbent Ghana FA President Kurt Okraku had received an overwhelming endorsement from delegates, polling 117 votes with only three voting against him after going unopposed.
