2023 U23 AFCON: Black Meteors land in Morocco for tournament after Egypt camping

Ghana's U23 national team, the Black Meteors, have arrived in Rabat, Morocco for the upcoming 2023 U23 African Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The delegation, consisting of players, technical staff, and officials, arrived in Rabat on Wednesday evening after completing a pre-tournament training tour in Cairo.

During their time in Egypt, the Black Meteors engaged in two friendly matches and underwent rigorous training sessions in Alexandria and Cairo.

Their first friendly match took place on June 15 at the Alexandria Stadium, where they played against the Egyptian U23 team, drawing 1-1

In their second friendly match, held in Cairo, the Black Meteors secured an impressive 4-1 victory over the Egyptian club side, Zamalek SC.

As part of Group A, Ghana's U23 team will commence their journey in the tournament by facing Congo in their opening group stage match on Sunday, June 25, 2023.

The match will be held at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, taking place just one day after the competition's opening match.

Following their clash with Congo, the Black Meteors will then take on the tournament hosts, Morocco, in their second group stage match on Tuesday, June 27, 2023.

The encounter will once again be held at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, presenting an exciting challenge for Ghana's U23 team.

For their final group stage match, the Black Meteors will face Guinea at the Grand Stade de Tanger.
