Deschamps has unsurprisingly dug deep into the Premier League talent pool, selecting eight from the English top flight.West Ham star Dimitri Payet made the list, along with Manchester United's world record signing Paul Pogba and Arsenal duo Laurent Koscielny and Olivier Giroud.

Crystal Palace's Steve Mandanda, Chelsea's N'Golo Kante, as well asTottenham's Moussa Sissoko and stopper Hugo Lloris were the other Premier League stars to makethe cut.

However, there were notable absenteesfrom Deschamps' roster, the most notable of which beingManchester United striker Anthony Martial.

The 20-year-old already has15 caps for his country. However, he has been used sparingly under Jose Mourinhothis seasonand former World Cup winnerDeschamps explained his selection process in his press conference.

"I think Mourinho - and I - expect more from him [Martial]. Its up to him to re-find his best level, even though he's playing less now, in the attacking sector I have a vast but difficult choice," Deschamps said.

Despite remaining one of the most promising talents at Old Trafford,Martial has scored just twice this season and he faces stiff competition for both club and country.

Fellow Manchester United player Morgan Schneiderlin has also been omitted, whileLyon forward Alexandre Lacazette andCrystal Palace'sYohan Cabaye also miss out.Classy PSG youngsterAdrien Rabiot receives his first call-up and will look to win his first cap in the upcoming fixtures.
