Presidential candidate for the upcoming Ghana Football Association (GFA) elections, Mr. George Afriyie has indicated that he is the best man to run the sports after the Normalization Committee (NC) leaves office even though all other candidates also qualify.

The owner of Okyeman Planners is one of six persons that have successfully legitimized their candidature in their quest to become the next president of the football governing body.

During his manifesto launch in Sunyani over the weekend, George Afriyie pulled a massive crowd that included a lot of the delegates who will be voting during the upcoming elections.

Speaking to journalists on the sidelines of the event, the football administrator has expressed confidence to eventually emerge as the president of the FA whiles stressing that he is far ahead of his competitors when it comes to the politics associated with football.

“Among all my competitors or among all the people who have declared to contest, all are qualified. Every one of them has the knowledge to run football. But amongst us all, I will always come on top when it comes to the politics of the sport.

“I have been part of all the past elections and I was the only person who went to CAF during the time of the last administration. So I know the politics and I want them to understand that I know what I am doing”, George Afriyie explained.

Other candidates looking to win the vacant seat include Nana Yaw Amponsah, Fred Pappoe, Kurt Okraku, Lawyer Amanda Clinton, and Lawyer George Ankomah Mensah.
