Appiah who led Ghana to the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations Semi Finals and the 2014 FIFA World Cup, has been tipped by many to make a return following his sack in 2014.

Media reports have revealed that the 56-year-old tactician, has been shortlisted by the six-member search committee and will be interviewed for the coaching job in the coming weeks.

The recent development has come as an exciting news to the Captain of the Black Stars who believes Kwesi Appiah is capable of doing a better job on his return.

"He (Kwesi Appiah) is a good man, he has developed himself in Sudan and i think he is capable of handling the team (Black Stars) again." Gyan told Hot FM.

Appiah was dismissed following the Black Stars’ debacle at the 2014 Fifa World Cup in Brazil, where they failed to progress from the group stage.

He is currently the head coach of Sudanese side Al Khatoum and has been shortlisted alongside two expatriates for the Black Stars coaching role according to reports.
