Ansgar Knauff's next career direction will be determined by the summer at the latest.

Eintracht Frankfurt would prefer to keep the winger on loan from Borussia Dortmund for another season, but there is no buy option at the end of his loan contract next summer.

BVB is already working on a new deal for the 20-year-old winger, according to the Ruhr Nachrichten.

According to the publication, BVB executives are working on a long-term contract extension with Knauff.

Furthermore, the winger could be offered a football viewpoint in which he would play a far larger role than he did before his loan to Frankfurt.

It is also said that the German U21 national player might be tested in the position of right-back defender, which is desperately required in Dortmund.

In addition, BVB head coach Edin Terzić had already said: "It is our clear plan that he will be part of our squad again from the summer."
