Carlo Ancelotti Admits There Are 'Problems' After Bayern Drop Points in 1-1 Schalke Draw

Bayern Munich boss Carlo Ancelotti was left to rue his side's below-par performance after their 1-1 draw against Schalke.

The Bundesliga giants took the lead through Robert Lewandowski in the ninth minute but Naldo's equaliser just fourminutes later ensured the points were shared on Saturday. Speaking toBayern's official website, Ancelotti conceded his side were not good enough in certain areas.

"It was a tough match for us, Schalke played well," the former AC Milan and Chelsea boss admitted.

"We started well, but weren't compact enough later. Our rearguard and midfield line weren't close enough to each other.

"We failed to win possession in the crucial moments, that's why we had problems. Overall it wasn't enough, we'll focus on the next match now."

Bayern remain in first place in the Bundesliga after nearest rivals RB Leipzig were beaten by Borussia Dortmund 1-0, thanks to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's strike. Bayern's lead at the top of the table has now stretched to four points, but goalkeeper Manuel Neuer stated his side could not afford to rely on luck in order to pick up victories.

"Of course it's always about the result, but also about the way we played," the Germany international said.

"Things didn't go as planned in the first half, that's clear. We tried everything in the second half and were somewhat unlucky in terms of our chances in the closing stages. We can't always be lucky as we were recently against Freiburg."

Bayern's Bundesliga campaign continues next Saturday when they travel to Ingolstadt.
