Ghanaian defender Daniel Amartey is aiming to bounce back stronger after his horrifying injury in Saturday’s League match against West Ham United.

The 23-year-old was stretched off the field with a suspected broken ankle late in the game.

Replay indicates that Amartey twisted his ankle in an awkward manner after getting involved in a challenge with West Ham midfielder Michail Antonio.

He was immediately taken off the pitch to receive further treatment at the hospital.

The defender despite the depressing moment is positive he would bounce back stronger.

After the game, Leicester City manager Claude Puel said: "I hope it is not as a serious as we think. He will have to have an examination."

"My first thought at the end is for my player Daniel," he said.

"He played well and gave his best so it is difficult to see this injury at the end. He will have an exam and we will see after. He has gone to the hospital, of course.

"I thought more about that at the end than the game."
