Daniel Opare impress for Zulte Waregem with 2 assists in pre-season win against KAA Gent

Ghana international Daniel Opare displayed a fine form for his Zulte Waregem club on Saturday, July 1, 2020, when they defeated KAA Gent 2-1 in a pre-season friendly game.

The two teams commenced preparations for the next Belgian Jupiler Pro League season last month following the abrupt end to the last campaign with a game to spare as a result of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

Yesterday, they locked horns to give respective managers the chance to assess the players of their squads ahead of the start of the 2020/2021 football season next week.

Following a good start to the match, Daniel Opare assisted Sadio Berahino to open the scoring for Zulte Waregem just a minute into the first half.

Six minutes on, the team doubled their lead through a strike from Jelle Vossen. It was Opare who also provided the assist for this goal.

Though KAA Gent grabbed a consolation goal in the second half, it was not enough to save them from the defeat at the end of the friendly match.

Daniel Opare, 29, joined Zulte Waregem in June and is expected to play a key role for the team in the upcoming Belgian Jupiler Pro League season.
