Ernest Nuamah to work under new coach at Lyon after Laurent Blanc’s dismissal

Published on: 11 September 2023

French manager Laurent Blanc has been dismissed from his role as the head coach of Olympique Lyonnais due to the team's poor performance.

This development means that Ghana's young talent, Ernest Nuamah, who recently joined Lyon in a €30 million deal, will have to adjust to a new leadership when he returns from international duty.

The 19-year-old forward made his debut for Lyon in the last game before the international break.

Nuamah is currently with the Black Stars preparing for the international friendly against Liberia on Tuesday.

Despite the early stage of the 2023-24 French Ligue 1 season, one of France's dynamic teams finds itself at the bottom of the league with just one point from four games.

On Monday, September 11, 2023, Lyon opted to part ways with Laurent Blanc, citing the team's performance in relation to their season targets.

Blanc's dismissal comes after Lyon suffered a 4-1 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain before the summer international break, a result believed to have contributed to the decision.
