Azam FC defender, Yakubu Mohammed has expressed his joy to his call-up to the Ghana senior national team.
The Black Stars of Ghana will on October 9, 2020, engage its counterpart of Mali in an international friendly game that will be played in Antalya, Turkey.
On Thursday evening, the head coach for the Ghana national team, Charles Kwablah Akonnor named Yakubu Mohammed as one of 23 players invited for the upcoming friendly.
Reacting to the news, the Tanzania-based defender says he is overjoyed on his maiden Black Stars call-up.
“Happy and ecstatic to have earned my first call up for the Senior National team of Ghana for the upcoming friendly game again MALI”, the former Aduana Stars defender said in a post on his Twitter page.
According to Coach CK Akonnor, he has monitored Yakubu for a while and believes he deserves this chance to show what he can offer the national team.
