Fabianski close to Hammers move

Published on: 18 June 2018

Lukasz Fabianski, who is currently representing Poland at World Cup 2018, has revealed that he is set to sign for West Ham United.

The former Arsenal goalkeeper has been with Swansea City for the last four seasons but will leave the Welsh side following their relegation to the Championship.

The 33-year-old is expected to sign a three-year-deal with the Hammers after completing a proposed £7million switch.

Last season West Ham used both Joe Hart, who was on loan at the club from Manchester City, and Adrian as their goalkeepers.

Fabianski said: "We need to wait a bit, but I won't be lying - something is going to happen.

"Now I need to wait and be patient. If I leave Swansea, I will regret that it will happen after relegation to the Championship.

"I spent a lovely time there. They helped me in a tough moment, when I didn't play for Arsenal. I will have good memories for the rest of my life from Swansea."

Swansea can be backed at 10/3 to be promoted from the Championship in 2018/19 while West Ham are 10/1 to win the opening match of their campaign against Liverpool at Anfield on 11th August.
