Former Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association, Ibrahim Saanie Daara says Ghana Premier League is not in decline as purported to be by a section of the public.

Some Ghanaians over the years have raised concerns about the decline of the domestic top-flight.

To them, the Ghanaian top-flight is nothing to write home about as they believe other countries in Africa are pushing to improve as compared to Ghana.

But according to Saanie Daara, the Ghana Premier League is not dead contrary to claims by some Ghanaians.

“Our league is not dead just that spectator has come down but there are a lot of factors involved. The attention has been on the foreign league in recent times and I will plead with Parliament to set rules to protect our league. when you go the UK, there are laws that protect their league so it is about time, we implement laws to save our leagues”

“The league has not decline but the dynamics have changed club and I will urge individual club owners to make their teams community based. I will commend Moses Parker, who made Medeama a community based team and has paid off”
