Ghana U-17 to face U.A.E in Pre-tournament Friendly today

The Black Starlets of Ghana, the national under-17 team will play the under-18 team of the United Arab Emirates in a Pre-tournament friendly on Saturday afternoon.

The team will use the game as part of its preparations towards the FIFA under-17 world Cup in India next month. Coach Paa Kwesi Fabin and his boys have already been engaged in a friendly, where they lost to African Champions Mali on Wednesday.

Following the trimming of the squad to 21 players, the Coach will give every player in the squad an opportunity in today’s game.

The Black Starlets have been drawn in group A of the FIFA U-17 world Cup with host India, Colombia from South America and the United States.

Ghana is returning to the mundial after a ten year absence, her last appearance being in 2007, where the team placed fourth.

However, the team is poised for a third world cup glory after the 1991 and 1995 triumphs.
