Ghana v Nigeria WC qualifier: VAR successful installed at Baba Yara ahead of crucial clash

Officials assigned by CAF to handle VAR have successfully finished with its installation at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium ahead of the clash between Ghana and Nigeria on Friday.

This will be the very first time the technology is being applied in Ghana. It has been adopted to ensure that decisions by match officials are spot-on throughout the playoff of the African qualifiers to the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The Black Stars of Ghana will take on Nigeria’s Super Eagles in the first leg of the tie in the final round of the African qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup on Friday, March 25, 2022.

The game will be staged at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium and is scheduled to kick off at 19:30GMT.

Subsequently, the Ghana team will travel to Nigeria to take on the Super Eagles in the reverse fixture on March 29, 2022.

That game will also be played with VAR technology.
