Ghana's Issah Abass has expressed his excitement at helping Chaves secure a stunning victory against Benfica in the Portuguese league. Abass was named Man of the Match after scoring the decisive goal in the match on Saturday at the Estadio Municipal Manuel Branco Teixeira.

Following the game, Abass said that he was happy for the prize but the most important thing was that the team won.

Abass began the game on the bench but was introduced with 20 minutes remaining to replace Joao Correia. He had the most significant impact of the game by scoring the only goal in the final moments of the match.

The goal was as a result of a mistake made by the Benfica backline. Abass took advantage of the opportunity, skillfully made his way into the box, and delivered a superb strike that found the back of the net.

Chaves' victory over the league leaders, Benfica, came as a surprise to many football fans. The win saw Chaves move to 10th on the mid-table with 36 points.

Issah Abass has been doing well this season, having scored three league goals from 20 league appearances.
