Published on: 01 October 2021

Hearts of Oak are considering adopting the Cape Coast Sports Stadium as new home venue for their Caf Champions League games.

This emerges after the club was fined by CAF over the bad nature of the Accra Sports Stadium following their preliminary round game against Guinean outfit CI Kamsar.

According to multiple reports, the Ghana Premier League champions have been slapped with a fine of $5000 by the continent football governing body for using the Accra Sports Stadium for the CI Kamsar game.

Following the fine, the club are considering moving their home games in the CAF Champions League to the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.

The Phobians, after eliminating CI Kamsar in the preliminary round of the Champions League, will face Moroccan giants Wydad Athletic.

Hearts of Oak will host the first-leg in Ghana next month before travelling to Morocco for the second leg.
