Hearts of Oak forward Daniel Afriyie Barnieh to miss Bibiani Gold Stars clash

Published on: 28 October 2022

Hearts of Oak talisman Daniel Afriyie Barnieh will miss his side's Premier League match week four encounter against Bibiani Gold Stars on Saturday.

The 21-year-old will be unavailable due to commitment with the Black Meteors ahead of the second leg of the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against Mozambique.

Barnieh bagged a brace for coach Ibrahim Tanko's side as they won the first leg 2-1 in Maputo last Sunday.

He left the Hearts of Oak camp earlier this month and will not return until after the Mozambique tie, thereby missing the Gold Stars match.

The game is scheduled to kick off at 3pm at the Accra Sport stadium.

The match will be coach Slavko Matic's first official assignment for the team and he will be hoping for a perfect start.

Hearts of Oak are yet to win a game this season, having lost one and drawn two of the three matches played this season.

The Phobians are 14th on the league table with two points after three matches.
