Former Sevilla striker Frederick Kanoute has stated that he hopes Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey stays in La Liga amid transfer rumors.
The 26 year old has been heavily linked with a move to the English Premier League with Arsenal and Chelsea labelled as potential destinations. It has also been reported that PSG wants to sign him.
Kanoute however would like to see the Ghana international sparkle in the Spanish top flight for a while longer.
“There are a few exciting [African] players in the La Liga in my opinion”, Kanoute told Goal.
“I really like Thomas [Partey] of Atletico Madrid. He’s a player who is going to keep improving, and there even been rumours of him leaving to other clubs."
“We hope to keep him in the La Liga as long as possible. We should stay if he wants to”, Kanoute added.
Partey has made 38 appearances for Atletico Madrid in all competitions this season.
