Hearts of Oak striker Abednego Tetteh has disclosed that he was forced to play through pain at Al Hilal in Sudan.

Tetteh joined the Sudanese in 2016 after a fruitful season with Bechem United in the Ghana Premier League where he scored 11 goals.

He was a key cog at Al Hilal, however, his contract was canceled.

Speaking to Footballmadeinghana.com in an interview, the 29-year-old opened up on how he struggled in Sudan as he was forced to play through pain which led to the termination of his contract.

"I was in top form for Al Hilal but unfortunately I got injured in a league game before our Champions League game with Port Luis of Mauritius,’ he said.

"I was forced to play for my side in the Champions League game and I scored twice despite being injured.

"I was given the opportunity to travel to Ghana to use some traditional treatment but I was forced to return to Sudan three days after arriving in Ghana to play against our bitterest rivals Al Merreikh.

"Despite the injury, I accepted to play but we lost 2-1 to Al Merreikh and I scored the only goal for Al Hilal. My contract was terminated without my notice after the game,” he noted.

Tetteh recently joined Hearts of Oak and is expected to play a key role for the team when football activities resume from the COVID-19 break.
