Juan Mata Insists David De Gea Is Happy at Manchester United Amid Real Madrid Rumours

Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata has responded to speculation about David De Gea's future by insisting that the goalkeeper is comfortable at Old Trafford.

Reportsthis week have claimed thatReal Madrid have renewed their interest in De Gea and are preparinga £55m bid for the United number one in the summer.

De Gea was on the verge of a move to the Bernabeu on deadline day in the summer of 2015, only for the move to collapse after United failed to submit the paperwork before the deadline closed.

De Gea subsequently signed a new four-year deal with the English club and reclaimed his number one spot from team-mate Sergio Romero, ending the season with a FA Cup winners medal after United beat Crystal Palace 2-1 at Wembley.

Although this week has seen rumours of a move to Madrid for De Gea resurface,Manchester United teammate Mata feels De Gea is calm about his future and enjoying his football at the FA Cup holders, telling Spanish radio stationCadena SER: "I've not spoken to him about this at all.

"He is relaxed here, and with too much to think about for the rest of the season, without thinking about the summer."

Mata also praised the impact that De Gea has had at United, saying: "David is a veteran here already, been here many years," adding"Everyone recognises his contribution to the team."

Whilst the possibility of another transfer saga looms large, De Gea and Mata's current focus will be on United's battle for a top four place, which continues on Saturday with the home game against Watford.
