The Black Stars midfielder who flourishes when deployed in a left-wing-back role was rested when the Nerazzurri beat Bologna over the weekend to have him fresh for the upcoming game.

According to reports, manager Antonio Conte took that decision because he considers the defender as a key player for the team’s setup and wants him to be full of energy for midweek action in European Competition.

In a preview to the crucial game against the Yellow and Blacks, Asamoah has been identified as one of three top players who makes the core of the Italian giants.

The other two players are Uruguayan defender Diego Godin as well as former Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku who has been in devastating form since the start of the season.
