Midfielder Latif Anabila pushing to have Asante Kotoko contract terminated

Ghanaian midfielder, Latif Anabila has written to Asante Kotoko to inform the club of his desire to have his contract terminated.

This is as a result of a broken relationship with head coach Mariano Barreto that has seen him being suspended for seven days.

According to his manager Alex Ackumey, he is not happy and will want to leave Asante Kotoko at the end of the season should the Portuguese coach stay on as Reds boss.

“Latif Anabila has written letters to Kotoko management complaining about attitude of Mariano Barreto towards him to the extent he has told other players not to relate to him which those players have suffered for going contrary.

“Should Mariano Barreto's attitude towards him doesn't change and continues like that we have informed management the player would like to leave,” Alex Ackumey revealed to Oyerepa FM on Wednesday.

Mr. Ackumey added, “I want to state that Latif Anabila's contract at Kotoko is one of the best but the coach's attitude towards him is the reason he might leave. Should the coach stay after this season am not sure Latif will continue with Kotoko.

This season, Latif Anabila has had little involvement since Mariano Barreto joined as the team’s head coach.
