Former Manchester United defender Phil Neville has weighed in on the most popular debate in the modern football.
Neville claims that Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored his seventh Champions League hat-trick in the 3-0 win over Atletico Madrid on Tuesday, is a greater player than Barcelona's Lionel Messi.
He said: "I feel embarrassed to say Cristiano Ronaldo is greater than Messi but you just need to see his performance tonight - he is 32 and has scored a hat trick in the semi-final of the Champions League.
"I have goosebumps here thinking of that performance.
"One without the other wouldn't be as successful. What sets them apart from every other player, is that they deliver on the big occasions."
