Some Nottingham Forest fans have openly expressed their disappointment at Andre Ayew over his decision to stay back from the team’s celebration after they survived relegation.

Forest drew 1-1 with Crystal Palace in their final game of the Premier League after they were assured of safety during their win against Arsenal last weekend.

After the game, the Reds went to celebrate with their fans as the Ghana captain appeared not to join in the celebration but instead stood back and clapped.

Some fans of the club were not enthused by that behaviour of the player who made 13 appearances for the club and took to social media to criticise him.

“See how Ayew stays back. Respect”, “Feel sorry for Ayew”, Why didn’t Ayew join in”?” were some of the comments fans of the club posted on social media.

Andre joined Forest as a free agent from Qatari side, Al Sadd.

He has been named in Black Stars squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Madagascar next month.
