NSA asked Dreams FC to pay GHC36k to use Baba Yara Stadium because they announced a free gate policy - NSA PRO

The National Sports Authority (NSA) has clarified that their request for GH₵36k for the usage of the Baba Yara Stadium during the CAF Confederation Cup second leg semi-finals between Dreams FC and Zamalek was intended for the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

A circulated excerpt of the letter outlining the NSA's demand for the FA Cup champions sparked social media discussion after Dreams FC announced free entry to ensure a charged atmosphere for the crucial match.

The letter emphasized the NSA's intention to allocate the funds to prepare the facility for what they deemed a ‘Category A’ match.

However, NSA spokesperson Charles Amofah clarified to Asempa FM that the intended recipient was the Ghana FA, not the Ghanaian club.

Amofah explained, "When you read the letter that the Ashanti Regional Acting Director [NSA] wrote to the FA, it clearly stated that the reason NSA is asking for a little support is based on the club's decision [to allow free entry].”

He added, “This issue is an issue of miscommunication between the two parties. Dreams should have had a wider consultation with the managers of the facility before announcing free entry.”

Despite the administrative confusion, Dreams FC, boasting an unbeaten record at home in the competition, will look to their fans at the Baba Yara Stadium for support against Zamalek.
