The Blues continued their fine form as they came from a goal down to earn a 2-1 victory over Mauricio Pochettino’s men and maintain their place at the top of the table.

Chelsea have earned plenty of praise for their attacking performances in recent weeks and the Blues have now won their last seven games in the Premier League.

Essien, who is currently without a club, has been training at Chelsea’s Cobham base in recent days as he continues to work on his fitness levels.

And the former Blues midfielder was clearly thrilled to see Chelsea beat Spurs at Stamford Bridge this weekend.

Essien posted the picture above on his personal Instagram account after the game and wrote the caption: “Back home after watching Chelsea win today against Tottenham #home ? #comeonchelsea ?”

Chelsea are aiming to bounce back from their disastrous 10th-placed finish in the Premier League last season.
