Roma coach Di Francesco on Napoli win: We can still do better

Roma coach Eusebio Di Francesco remained dissatisfied despite their 4-2 win over Napoli on Saturday.

Lorenzo Insigne had opened the scoring, but the Giallorossi fought back through Cengiz Under, an Edin Dzeko brace and Diego Perotti for the shock 4-2 victory.

It beat the Serie A leaders and ended Napoli's run of 10 consecutive top flight victories.

“I have to say the loss to Milan was heaviest because of our attitude. We worked hard on a psychological level and people talked about a team that was downhearted," said Di Francesco.

“Now this must be a starting point against a great Napoli side. These were two teams who faced each other openly and we were consistent throughout, something we struggled with lately.

“It certainly wasn't perfect, because we conceded the second goal due to our negligence. We lowered the concentration levels at the end and have to sort that out. We can't always score four goals.

“I am always proud to be the Coach of this team, even after defeats. The teams who win are not those who make no mistakes, because everyone does, but rather those who make fewer mistakes. This evening, we made fewer mistakes than Napoli.

“We put four goals past Napoli and that is no mean feat. Dzeko gave a strong response to the critics. We spoke for 50 minutes before the Milan game and he realised that he had to do more Aside from the goals, he worked really hard when Napoli were pressing and that is what I liked the most.

“Dzeko does really well between the lines. He's a Number 9 when close to the goal, but can do well in other areas too. I've seen few player like him.

“Zlatan Ibrahimovic could do that, but was more determined and Edin lacks that at times. He thinks more about what he should've done than what he needs to do next. This time, the lads focused more on the next move."
