Thomas Partey’s father hopes he wins Africa Player of the Year soon

The father of Thomas Partey, Jacob Partey says he hopes the new Arsenal midfielder wins the Africa Player of the Year award soon.

The highly-rated midfielder has in the last few years been one of the best players on the African continent.

On transfer deadline day on Monday, Thomas Partey sealed a move to Arsenal from Spanish La Liga outfit Atletico Madrid.

Speaking to Ashh FM, the midfielder’s father, Jacob Partey says he is overly delighted.

“I feel very happy and excited and now am wearing a white jaalabia celebrating. I thank Ghanaian for their prayers and I know all Ghanaians are happy because Thomas Partey is their deputy captain”, he said.

According to Jacob Partey, the best from his son is yet to come and he hopes he wins the Africa Player of the Year award soon.

“Is our prayers that with this move one day he wins the African player of the year one day. Ghanaians are now going to see the football in Thomas Partey and I believe he is going to play his heart out”, he added.
