Black Meteors head coach Ibrahim Tanko is highly-optimistic of a win over Cameroon in their opening game of the 2019 Africa U-23 Cup of Nations in Egypt.

Ghana will face the Indomitable Lions at the Cairo international stadium on Friday before playing hosts Egypt and Mali on November 11 and 14 respectively.

Coach Ibrahim Tanko and his lads are making their debut appearance at the tournament and are eager to progress to the semi-finals and book a ticket to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

"I am very confident that the team will be 100% ready for Friday’s opening match against Cameroon and subsequent matches. The players are ready to deliver and are really committed to making the nation proud.

"I hope the players continue like this so that on Friday we will have a very good game. We know what we will encounter on Friday. We’re ready for the game," Tanko stated after the team’s training in Cairo.
