The head coach of the Black Queens, Nora Hauptle has expressed her delight after overseeing Ghana’s qualification to the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) tournament.

Ghana after a 3-2 aggregate win over Namibia will now play at the 2024 WAFCON scheduled to be hosted by Morocco next year.

Speaking after Ghana lost 1-0 to Namibia in the second leg of the final round of the qualifiers, Coach Nora Hauptle said her team could have scored three goals in the second half.

She said what is important is that the Black Queens will be playing at the WAFCON next year.

“All in all I think we took control and should have scored them with two or three goals in the second half. The performance today is closed because we qualified and Ghana is back on the WAFCON and we are hungry to play there,” coach Nora Hauptle said.

The Swiss tactician in a call to her players has urged them to stay focused and work hard for the tournament in Morocco.

“We need to work and continue with our mission Volta. I’m proud of this year we won out of 11, 10 games and I think we can have a nice Christmas,” coach Nora Hauptle added.
