World Cup 2022: England knock Senegal out with 3-0 win to advance to quarter-finals

England are through to the quarter-finals of the 2022 FIFA World Cup after seeing off Senegal with a thumping 3-0 win at the end of a one-sided contest.

The Three Lions today locked horns with the Lions of Teranga in the fourth Round of 16 match of the mundial ongoing in Qatar.

In a game that produced a lot of excitement, Jordan Henderson scored in the 38th minute to open the scoring for England.

He was assisted by Jude Bellingham after the Borussia Dortmund star made a smart cut-back to find the Liverpool veteran.

Later in the dying minutes of the first half, Harry Kane got his name on the score sheet after a quick turnover that caught the Senegalese defense in sixes and sevens.

This time around, it was Manchester City star Phil Foden who assisted the goal.

With Bukayo Saka getting his name on the score sheet in the second half, England stayed in control of the match and cruised to a delightful 3-0 win to eliminate the African Champions from the World Cup.

England are through to the quarter-finals and will take on France to fight for a place in the semi-finals.
