Nations FC coach Kobina Amissah has urged Ghanaians to lower their expectation as the Black Stars kick off their World Cup campaign against Portugal today.

The mood of the country changed after Ghana's 2-0 friendly win against Switzerland. Many are now expecting the Black Stars to get a positive result against Portugal this afternoon.

The team completed their final training session ahead of the clash yesterday morning. The game against Portugal will take place at the Stadium 974.

President Akufo-Addo paid a visit to the players at the Black Stars team hotel. He spoke to the technical team, Ghana Football Association officials and encouraged the players.

"Football is now a business and if you are a supporter and you want to follow it you have to follow it well. Sometimes you can lose a match, draw or lose but all the same you as the supporter and team owner you should not give up," he said on Peace FM as monitored by footballghana.com

"Football in general now little by little Ghana we are progressing this is the third time we have gone to the World Cup and we are following with our hearts and soul. What I will say is that the expectation shouldn't be so high. The opponent you are going to face have also prepared,"
