Former coach of Nigeria, Christian Chukwu has urged the Super Eagles to be resilient and fight when they face the Black Stars of Ghana in the 2022 FIFA World Cup play-off.

The Super Eagles will play the Black Stars in a two-legged encounter with the winner securing one of the five slots on the African continent.

The first leg of the titanic qualifying tie will be played March 25 at the Baba Yara Stadium before the reverse encounter on March 29 at the Moshood Abiola national stadium in Abuja.

Speaking to NAN in Enugu on Wednesday, Chukwu said: “Our players should fight for it and be resilient because playing at the World Cup remains the most important dream and prayer of any outstanding footballer.

“The World Cup is the showpiece and zenith of football.

“It has great potential of selling both the individual player and his country of origin to the rest of the world.”

Nigeria are in search of their 7th World Cup qualification and will have to edge past the Black Stars to be in Qatar.

The 2022 FIFA World Cup will be staged in the Asian country between November and December this year.
