Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has slammed Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey following his poor performance in the team’s 2-2 draw against West Ham United on Sunday.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Carragher criticized Partey for his inability to keep possession, which ultimately led to the Hammers’ comeback.

Partey, who had been a standout performer for Arsenal throughout the season, made a costly mistake as he was dispossessed just outside his own penalty area.

This allowed West Ham midfielder Declan Rice to take control of the ball and set up Lucas Paqueta for a foul, which resulted in a penalty kick that was successfully converted by Said Benrahma.

The Ghanaian midfielder then lost the ball again seconds later and committed a foul on Benrahma during a counter-attack, receiving a yellow card in the process.

Carragher described Partey’s performance as his worst ever, despite his otherwise impressive form for Arsenal this season.

“Thomas Partey has been fantastic this season for Arsenal but this is the worst I’ve seen him play,” Carragher said. “He’s just not at the races at all.”
