2022 FIFA World Cup: Ghana players to be released by European clubs seven days before start of tournament Qatar

Published on: 14 April 2022

Ghana may not have the chance to camp for a long time before traveling to Qatar for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

This is because, FIFA has made it only mandatory for clubs to release players for their national teams on November 14, 2022. That is just seven days before the mundial starts in Qatar.

It is now clear that if the Black Stars wants to have a good tournament at this year’s World Cup, the Ghana FA must come out with a plan that will have the Black Stars capitalize on every single international break in the upcoming months.

Ghana in early April was drawn in Group H of the group stage for the 2022 FIFA World Cup at the end of the draw ceremony held in Doha, Qatar.

In the group, the Black Stars will face off with giants Portugal, former champions Uruguay, and tricky South Korea.

At the tournament, Ghana will take on Portugal in the first match of the group stage before going on to play against Uruguay and South Korea in the second and third matches.

This year’s FIFA World Cup has been scheduled to be played between November and December.

The Black Stars after missing the 2018 edition in Russia, are keen on travelling to Qatar to make an impact.
