Gyan is the all-time leading goalscorer of the senior national team, with 51 goals from 109 appearances.

The 34-year-old has represented Ghana at eight Africa Cup of Nations tournaments and three Fifa World Cup tournaments.

He is the top African goalscorer in the history of the World Cup with six goals.

"Asamoah [Gyan] has done quite well. I saw him play and I knew he was going to be a great player. In the Black stars he has done very well but he could have done more,” Abedi Pele told GTV Sports Plus.

"I knew he has the ability to score wonderful and immediately I saw him I was impressed. He has a bit of Tony Yeboah in him."

He is currently without a club after parting ways with Indian Super League outfit NorthEast United FC in January.
