The Ghana women’s national team, the Black Queens, won their ninth consecutive game under the guidance of head coach, Nora Hauptle.

The Black Queens have done so without conceding a goal and scoring 31 goals from games in the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, Olympic Games qualifiers and international friendly matches stretching from February.

The ninth consecutive win came against Benin on Tuesday at the Accra Sports Stadium when the Black Queens won 2-0 in the reverse fixture of their 2024 Olympic Games qualifying second round match.

Evelyn Badu’s strike in the 65th minute opened the scoring for the Black Queens before constant pressure on the Benin defense resulted in an own goal for Ghana's second.

Ghana has now qualified to the third round of the qualifiers on a 5-0 aggregate score following a 3-o win in the 1st leg in Cotonou.

The stage is now set for the Black Queens to face Zambia in the third round of the qualifiers in February next year for a place in the fourth and final round.
