Black Starlets had to battle hard to secure a win against Spain at the ongoing 2023 UEFA U-16 Development Tournament on Saturday afternoon.
The first half resulted in a one-all tie for Ghana, with Great Corinthians center-forward Benjamin Tsivanyo scoring. Black Starlets passed very well and were able to go toe to toe with Spain in midfield.
Benjamin Tsivanyo and Peter Hammond goals in the second half pushed the Black Starlets to a 3-2 victory over Spain.
Ghana finished the game with nine men after the referee handed two players straight red cards.
Ghana's first game at the 2023 UEFA U-16 Development Tournament ended 4-0. Great Corinthians forward Benjamin Tsivanyo scored a hat-trick within 17 minutes before Theophilus Nii Adjertey Adjei added the fourth goal to complete the rout.
On Tuesday, April 18, Ghana will play Switzerland in the final game of the 2023 UEFA U16 Development Tournament. The game is set to begin at 8:00 a.m. GMT.
