2022 World Cup: Otto Addo is the right man to lead Black Stars - Derek Boateng

Published on: 16 June 2022

Derek Boateng believes that the Black Stars' Otto Addo, is more than capable of taking the team to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Otto Addo was appointed after Serbian trainer Milovan Rajevac was sacked. Addo led Ghana to face the Super Eagles of Nigeria in the World Cup playoff doubleheader.

Ghana drew 0-0 in the first leg at the Baba Yara Stadium and drew 1-1 in the second leg to book a spot at the Mundial.

Speaking to Hot FM in an interview, Boateng stated that Otto Addo is the best man to lead the Black Stars to the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

“He is a brilliant coach…he is more than the right man to lead the Stars to the World Cup,” the former Fulham midfielder said.

Derek Boateng explained why he felt Otto Addo qualifies to lead the stars to the Qatar World Cup by saying Addo wanted more from his teammates when they played together.

“Even as a player, Otto Addo demanded more from us (Teammates) so I am sure he will push this team 100 percent to fully bring out their potential,” he added.
