Ex-Footballer Dani Osvaldo Blasts Beautiful Game for 'Making Me Unhappy' in Foul-Mouthed Rant

It is an understatement to say that Dani Osvaldo had had a very chequered playing career before deciding to retire earlier this year.

The former Roma, Southampton and Boca Juniors striker endured a nomadic career that took in 13 clubs across 12 years before he called time on his footballing career at the age of 30.

Osvaldo has now turned to the world of music - particularly becoming a rock star - as his new venture, but the ex-Italy international had plenty to say about the beautiful game during a recent interview with Fox Sports Argentina.

He said: Football was not happy, it is a world full of s**t.

I have no problem talking about it. I gave everything in life and was one of my great passions. I loved playing and more to do it with Boca, the club of my heart. I realised that I was unhappy and decided to say enough.

To prove just how much Osvaldo has fallen out of love with football, he turned down a lucrative £1.25m-a-year deal to come out of retirement and play for Serie A side Chievo in the summer. Just as well really. His controversial personality is probably more in line with the world of rock music than football!
