Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Henry Asante Twum, has urged Ghanaians to maintain calm and extend support to the technical staff of the Black Stars, especially head coach Otto Addo, during this transitional phase.

Speaking in an interview, Asante Twum acknowledged the challenges the team faces following their disappointing performance at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

He stressed the importance of allowing Addo sufficient time to implement his plans and strategies effectively.

"While we understand the concerns of Ghanaians due to the team's recent underperformance, it's crucial to remember that we have a new technical setup led by Otto Addo, supported by Joseph Laumann, Joseph Panstil, and Fatawu Dauda. These are testing times, but let's maintain composure as the new team works tirelessly to restore our team's glory," he told Akoma FM.

Asante Twum expressed optimism regarding Ghana's upcoming World Cup qualifiers, pointing out the expected return of injured players and the availability of key squad members.

He believes that with a fully fit squad, the Black Stars will be competitive and capable of achieving positive results in the qualifiers.

"We anticipate having all our players back in full fitness by the end of the season, which bolsters our confidence in competing strongly. Players like Kudus, Thomas, Amartey, Djiku, Gideon Mensah, among others, are fit and ready," he remarked.

Additionally, Asante Twum congratulated Inaki Williams on winning his first trophy with Athletic Bilbao over the weekend, expressing hope that this achievement will boost his confidence and positively impact his performance with the Black Stars.

Meanwhile, the Black Stars will return to action in June later this year when they face Mali and the Central African Republic in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
