Ghana defender Alidu Seidu injured his ankle in his first football trial in France

Ghana and Clermont Foot defender Alidu Seidu, says he sustained an injury during his first trial after arriving in France from Ghana.

The 22-year-old, who was born in Aboabo, Ghana started his playing career at JMG Academy before leaving the shores of the country.

He arrived in France for a trial with Troyes, however he picked up serious injuries in his two trials with the French club.

“My first justify was in Troyes,” he told the Star Connect team.

“I went there and the first training that I had, I injured my ankle. My ankle got broken. I went there again for the second time, I did the trials for two weeks and I got injured again.

“The team told me I am not a strong player and I am injury prone so they won’t select me.”

Seidu was named in Ghana's 55-man provisional squad for the 2022 FIFA Word Cup and will be hoping to make the final squad which will be named on Monday, November 14.

Black Stars have been drawn in Group H alongside Portugal, South Korea and Uruguay.

Ghana will take on Portugal in their first game on November 24 before playing South Korea and Uruguay on November 28 and December 2 respectively.
