German-born Ghanaian youngster Justin Diehl scored in FC Köln II's 3-3 draw with Fortuna Köln in the German Regionalliga West Round 18.

On the first matchday of the Regionalliga West season, youngsters suffered their worst setback of the season, losing 1-5 in the first leg. As a result, head coach Evangelos Sbonias' team desired retaliation.

And the indicators that this might work couldn't have been more promising after the first half. Pierre Nadjombe scored after only 12 seconds to give the FC U-21s the lead.

Damion Downs' penalty in the 36th minute and Justin Diehl's goal in the 39th minute extended the lead before halftime.

The U-21s lost control in the second half but had a chance to enhance the score even further with a few counterattacks. Fortuna Cologne improved and scored the game's opening goal in the 69th minute.

The visitors from the southern metropolis scored the next goal in the 88th minute and the late equalizer in stoppage time in a tense final offensive.

As a result, the Young Bucks lost out on passing Fortuna Cologne in the standings, but they remain unbeaten at home this season. FC Koln's U-21 team is fourth in the standings after 18 games. The Laki squad has the opportunity to complete the year with a win over Ahlen on Sunday, December 10th.
