The attacking midfielder suffered an unfortunate injury setback in October while making his first Uefa Champions League debut for Ajax Amsterdam in a clash against Liverpool.

Subsequently ruled out of action for the rest of the year, Mohammed Kudus is now on the brink of returning to action this month after making significant progress in the treatment room.

“He is in his final phase of his rehabilitation,” Ajax manager Erik ten Hag said on Sunday.

The gaffer added, “There is a chance that he will get into action quickly. We are certainly working towards that with him."

With Ajax set to play on Wednesday in the KNVB Cup against FC Utrecht, sources say Mohammed Kudus could feature if an assessment comes out good on Monday.
