Owner and life patron of Asante Kotoko, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has vowed to sack head coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum if he becomes a problem for the club.
The Reds are sitting 11th on the Premier League log having just a game in their last seven games.
In an emergency meeting at Manhyia on Thursday held to address the concerns of the club, the King said that both the players and technical staff must identify the root causes of their recent poor performances.
He made it clear that every member of the team ultimately serves him and not any individual, emphasising the need for unity and collective effort to uplift the team. Under his leadership, he affirmed his commitment to ensuring the team’s success and would not tolerate any decline in performance.
“I am expecting something better from you,” The King said.
“Prove to me that you are capable and if the coach is the problem, then I will take a decision on him. But for now, make sure you go and play and win.”
The meeting between the king and stakeholders followed a rather chaotic situation where some displeased fans disrupted the team’s training session demanding the resignation or dismissal of Prosper Narteh Ogum, the coach.
However, Otumfuo has backed the coach to continue with the hope of a turnaround.
The Porcupine Warriors will hope to return to winning ways when they face league leaders FC Samartex on Sunday, April 21, 2024, in the Matchday 27 games at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday.
