Ghana midfielder Mohammed Kudus has lauded his Black Stars teammate, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, for his outstanding performance in the English Championship with Leicester City last season.

Fatawu faced challenges in securing a starting spot in the senior team despite making his debut against Rio Ave in August of the same year.

However, his fortunes changed when he joined Leicester City on loan for the 2023/24 season, where he made an immediate impact.

The 19-year-old prodigy earned the admiration of Leicester fans with an impressive tally of seven goals and 13 assists in 42 appearances across all competitions, contributing significantly to Leicester's promotion to the English top flight.

Following his recognition as the Ghanaian Footballer of the Year, Kudus commended his fellow Black Stars teammate, expressing pride in Fatawu's accomplishments.

“I have told him this already, but I would like to use this opportunity to tell everyone how proud I am of his journey, how far he has come, and what he has achieved this season at Leicester.

“This is a source of motivation for him, me, and all the upcoming players of our generation.”

The two would be playing in the Premier League next season.
