FC Barcelona have surprised the footballing world after their new loan signing of Kevin Prince Boateng. He will become the first ever football player from Ghana to wear the Blaugrana jersey. The Catalan club will also have an option to buy him for 8 million euros($9m) if they require his services post the ongoing season. Overall, it was a smart tactical move by Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu in roping in the Sassuolo midfielder.

This could prove to be a fruitful signing given the fact that Barcelona have recently let their backup striker Munir El Haddadi leave, while winger Denis Suarez is most likely to join Arsenal on loan. However, the signing could leave the Blaugrana fans infuriated as Boateng had in the past said some "controversial" things on Barcelona.

In an interview in 2017, Boateng was asked by a Journalist to reveal his preference between the two Spanish giants - Barcelona and Real Madrid and he blatantly replied: "Madrid, it's like when I was a kid the White shirt always got me."
