Midfielder Abdul Salis Samed feeling proud after finally debuting for Ghana

Ghana international, Abdul Salis Samed has expressed delight after finally playing his first match for the national team.

The talented midfielder started for the Black Stars of Ghana on Thursday morning for the friendly match against Switzerland.

In a game where he was paired with Elisha Owusu in midfield, Abdul Salis Samed put up a good performance to the delight of his coaches and Ghanaians.

After the game, the RC Lens midfielder says he is proud he has debuted for the Black Stars.

“Proud to wear this jersey for the first time,” the midfielder said in a post on Twitter.

Ghana beat Switzerland at the end of today’s friendly thanks to goals from Mohammed Salisu and Antoine Semenyo.

The Black Stars are now set to wrap up their stay in Abu Dhabi on Friday and will travel to Qatar in the evening ahead of the start of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Ghana at the 2022 FIFA World Cup will be one of five African countries representing the continent.

The Black Stars will compete in Group H of the group stages of the tournament. In that group, Ghana will battle it out with two-time champions Uruguay, as well as European giants Portugal.

The other group opponent is South Korea from Asia.

While the 2022 FIFA World Cup will commence on Sunday, November 20, Ghana’s Black Stars will play their first match on November 24.

Subsequently, Ghana will take on South Korea on November 28 before finishing the group stages campaign with a rematch against Uruguay.
