My lack of education affected my career- Odartey Lamptey

Former Black Stars attacker, Odartey Lamptey has admitted that his low level of education played a negative part on his football career.

The former Anderlecht star revealed that he signed a number of contracts without considering the effects it would have on his career.

He started his career in 1990 and ended it in 2008, playing for the likes of Anderlecht, PSV and Kotoko among others.

“My educational level affected me greatly in my career as a footballer. I signed most contracts without even knowing the implications of it on my career…,” he told Nana Kweku Kaninja on Angel TV.

Lamptey played for over ten clubs during his time as a footballer and he believed that his education which was at a low level caused that.

“They made me play in so many teams but if I knew I would have just played in one or two clubs,” he lamented.
